Since launching Sax Music Fest in 2014, we have been extremely grateful for all of your support in growing a music and arts festival that as a community we can all be proud of. Out of an abundance of caution and for the safety of the community we love, we’ve made the difficult decision to postpone until the following July on the same weekend. Sax Music Fest will now be scheduled for Friday 30th July and Saturday 31st July 2021. Stay safe everyone.

We would appreciate your contribution to this survey, thank you:

About Sax Music Fest

Sax Music Fest is a free annual music festival that takes place in Saxmundham on the last weekend of July. The event is located on the rear sports fields of Saxmundham Free School on Seaman Avenue. Just up the road from the Memorial Field where the festival began. We now use the old site as a car park, with just a few minutes’ walk to the festival.

To be held at the Saxmundham Free School playing fields on Friday 26 July and Saturday 27 July, the free festival is a celebration of arts and music, from rock to folk, with the focus on local talent from Saxmundham and the surrounding area.

During the festival local acts will perform on stage, with stalls exhibiting and selling local arts and crafts. There will be a variety of food and drinks on sale and a licensed bar will operate throughout the opening hours of the event.

Sax Music Fest started in 2014 and grew under the superb management and clear vision of Terry Barrow and the Brook Farm Residents Association. Due to the festival’s growth and increasing popularity, in 2017, the Saxmundham Music and Arts CIC was set up to manage the ongoing development of the festival, its fringe events and its community outreach programme. A business plan was written that underpins the development and growth of the festival with a robust plan to become financially self-sustaining.

Saxmundham Music and Arts CIC currently had 4 directors, Terry & Chris Barrow, Colin Dennison (Treasurer) and Andrea Blake. Our mission is to enrich the lives of all residents and visitors of Saxmundham and district by encouraging, supporting and providing access to music, the arts and entertainment with the aim of creating stronger local cohesion and wellbeing.

If you’re inspired by our mission and have the time and planning, marketing, finance or community outreach skills to help us to make Music and Arts readily accessible to all in and around Saxmundham, please get in touch by email to or Tel: 07771 877454
